Definitions

App(s) means application software developed by Truvo for handheld devices such as mobile phones and tablet computers

Which personal information do we collect from you?

Registered users
When registering an account on our websites we will ask to provide personal data including your e-mail address, user name and password. The registration form will indicate which information is required, and which is voluntary. If you submit voluntary information, you agree to make this information publicly available in your profile.

Our Websites and Apps use user generated content, including ratings of products, services or providers of products and/or services; reviews; images posted by users.

  • Referred URLs;

In addition, Apps and Website services may use your location. Please note that this functionality can be switched off using the settings of the mobile device on which the App is installed.

The Website and Apps are intended for household use. If a user uses our services for other purposes, for example by using the personal messaging service available to registered users to send messages to a large number of contacts or to distribute commercial messages, Truvo is not responsible for such use and the user must ensure that it complies with applicable data protection and privacy laws.

Truvo explicitly prohibits collecting data from its Website or Apps which are not compatible with the purposes of the relevant service or which is in breach of applicable data protection and privacy laws, including the law of 8 December 1992.

For which purpose do we use your personal data?

Registered users
Truvo uses your registration data for the purpose of membership administration and to allow you to use the services described in the Terms & Conditions, including the hosting of the information you make public through your profile, sending messages to other users, sending you information in relation to your account, the services, Websites and Apps for which you registered and to respond to your complaints or questions.

Truvo also keeps track of your interests to provide you with results and advertisements adjusted to your profile. 

In addition, Truvo can send you news on its products or special offers which may be of interest to you. We will only send you such messages if you explicitly opted to receive these communications and you will always be offered the possibility to opt out from receiving further marketing messages

All users (including non-registered users of Websites or Apps)
Many of Truvo’s services (including location-based services) are also open to non-registered users. For all its users, Truvo will process personal data to manage the Website or App and to offer the best possible services to its users.

In addition, Truvo makes statistical analysis of the conduct and the characteristics of its users, and to measure interest and the use of the different elements of the Websites and/or Apps. Such analysis is made using anonymous data.

To whom do we transfer your personal data?

If this is useful for the above-defined purposes, we may share personal data collected via the website within the Truvo group of companies and joint ventures. When you agree to receive direct marketing messages from commercial partners, your data will be transferred to these partners.   
Otherwise we will only disclose personal data if required by law to public authorities and law enforcement agencies, successors in title to our business, and suppliers we engage to process data on our behalf.

International transfers of personal data.

Users of our Website and Apps should bear in mind that the Internet is a global environment and our Website can be accessed from anywhere in the world.
